Many of our scholarships are different from scholarships offered at the high schools.  This information is updated periodically, so please continue to check back for updates.  Visit our office for more details and assistance.

South Carolina State Scholarships

Palmetto Fellows
Up to $6,700 in the first year with possibility of enhancement based on courses taken
Eligibility Requirements: 1200 SAT or 27 ACT plus 3.5 GPA and top 6% class rank in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade OR 1400 SAT or 32 ACT plus 4.0 GPA
Available at public and private 4-year institutions

LIFE (4-year college)
Up to $5,000 in the first year with possibility of enhancement based on major
Eligibility Requirements:  Two of these three:  3.0 final GPA, 1100 SAT or 24 ACT, final rank in top 30%
Available at public and private 4-year institutions

LIFE (2-year college)
Up to the cost of tuition plus $300 book allowance
Eligibility Requirements:  3.0 final GPA
Available at public and private 2-year institutions

Hope
Up to $2,800 the first year with possibility of LIFE for the next three years
Eligibility Requirements:  3.0 final GPA

Lottery Tuition Assistance
Portion of tuition (depends on available funding)
Eligibility Requirements:  Be a SC resident, enrolled in at least six credit hours toward a program, make satisfactory progress toward program requirements, and file a FAFSA
Available at public and private 2-year institutions

2017 United States Senate Youth Program Scholarship Competition
$10,000
Eligibility Requirements:  Minimum 3.0 GPA, strong academic performance in social studies, extensive knowledge of current events and knowledge of the state and federal governments’ political systems

Lyceum Scholars Program (Clemson University)

National Association of Federal Scholarship Program Administrators
Freshman Year Tuition (two scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a degree in Education, two additional scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a degree in Education or any other field)
Eligibility Requirements:  Application, Transcript, three letters of recommendation, financial need, 300-word essay

Harry Hampton Scholarship
$5,000/year for up to 4 years
Eligibility Requirements:  Seniors wishing to further their education in the natural resources discipline such as wildlife biology, fisheries biology, forestry or marine science (agriculture, general biology and veterinary science are not eligible curricula).  Must maintain a GPR of 2.5 of above to continue receiving the scholarship

Wallace F. Pate Scholarship
$2,500

Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative Touchstone Energy Scholarship
$3000 (seven to be awarded)
Eligibility Requirements:  Seniors with at least a B average, community involvement, need financial assistance and will NOT receive numerous or full scholarships and grants, goal oriented with a solid educational plan for the future, application, two letters of recommendation, transcript

South Carolina State Fair Scholarship
$6,000 (50 to be awarded – $1,500 per year for 4 years)
Eligibility Requirements:  Senior planning to attend a South Carolina college or university, awards are based on academic and extracurricular  achievement, communication skills, need, completeness of application,  and an essay (one-page about how the applicant has made their community a better place)

South Carolina Association of Extension Administrative Professionals Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements: Senior,  pursuing a career in secretarial science, computer science or business management, at least a B GPA, official transcript, two letters of recommendation, list of extracurricular activities, student organizations, etc.,  one-page essay stating applicant’s need for scholarship and career goals

Eligibility Requirements:  Must be a resident of South Carolina, financial need, academic record, pursuing a degree in Horticulture or a closely related field, application

Construction Industry Scholarship (NAWI Columbia)
$500 minimum, multiple scholarships available
Eligibility Requirements:  Student pursuing a degree directly related to the construction industry (Architecture, Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Drafting, Interior Design, Surveying, Project Management, etc.), South Carolina resident, renewed annually if a 2.85 GPA is maintained, application, transcript, statement of intent
